Naxar Nugaaleed Posted January 20, 2012 In an ideal world, your absolutely right, a decent person should not insult anyones religion, something we (am going to include myself for the sake of argument) are all guilty of as Somalis. I wouldn't hurt to sometimes agree to disagree. Qoftan, you might not like her but I assure you, she is one two of the most well know Somalis today. But I assume you have alterior motives for including her in your list.
Che -Guevara Posted January 20, 2012 Maybe we should define the meaning of prominent in this context? two possible meaning noticeable or celebrated? Certainly, Ayan Hirsi is one of the most noticeable Somalis while Ahmed Gurey is one of the most celebrated. Meaning and context people without accusing each other of ulterior motives. In a list of most prominent Somalis, Adam Cayroow or Abdiqasim Salad Hassan would NEVER, EVER make it. Maybe the most prominent members of the x clan, which would be a different story. That is what you got there, sir.
somalee Posted January 20, 2012 Somalia;776855 wrote: Your lists don't make sense. It says the most PROMINENT, meaning people have to recognize their name. Abdullahi Yusuf, Aideed, Ayaan Hirsi, Siad Barre and Sayiid. It depends on the 'people' you are referring to, sir. I wouldn't expect some people to recognize some names regardless of their prominence.
