(AP) -- Police say a San Jose nurse killed her mother-in-law in a machete attack because her wife was ending their marriage. The San Jose Mercury News reports ( http://bit.ly/yJlbB3) that 40-year-old Sagal Sadiq was arraigned Thursday on a murder charge. She did not enter a plea and said nothing during the hearing. According to a police report, Sadiq became angry after Minima Kirk texted her from Puerto Rico to say their relationship was over. Kirk told authorities that she had endured years of abuse. Police say Sadiq then lured 65-year-old Yvonne Kirk over to her home, saying she was scared after seeing a masked man on the porch. Sadiq allegedly hacked her to death. Sadiq initially claimed both she and Kirk were victims of an intruder, but police say her story quickly unraveled. If I decide to spend sometime behind bars, it won't be in Mareykanka LOL Capital punishment does exist in that state but they will probably give her 17 years (Second degree murder) due to the temp insanity, dumping/jealousy. I know same sex marriage isn't legal in Cali any more but somehow the media is referring them as married couple still. Maybe they have license from another state.
