Somalia Posted December 22, 2011 Winners TFG: Securing the capital, gaining the trust of the Somali people, bringing stability to what it governs, getting international support and high profile visits. Galmudug: Some incidences but overall has been steady going and understood that diplomacy is the way to go, now recognized region, meeting with TFG and others. Given a slice of the cake as well. Puntland: Taking its slice of TFG cake (funds and scholarship), right to sign its own contracts, international support for Galgala and Garsoor incidences and possible base of the future Somali Navy. Losers Somaliland: The revival of SNM and Borama and Erigabo incidences put a dent in unity, revived "Awdal State" and image tarnished both internationally and locally. However it has grown economically but the world isn't looking at that.. 21 years of lobbying and nothing to show. Up and coming states Ximan and Xeeb: Hosted a big conference for smaller states in central Somalia. Used diplomacy to lead the region, very likely to lead a unification of the central states. Lead by young Western educated man who has been recognized in media outlets like New York Times for his work. Azania/Jubbaland : Got international support but no unification on the ground, stalled by self interest and Al-Shabaab's hold on major towns. Movements SSC Movement: Last kick to the stomach was not being invited to Somali Reconciliation Conference (drafting the constitution), movement lost momentum and split into several factions. No support and allies. Awdal State Movement: No hold on the ground, revived last month, movement has taken off but the people it claims to speak for have not yet. xiinfaniin Posted December 22, 2011 SSC is the most consequential movement and will be remembered as the men and women who shot down the delusion of establishing clan state bordering Somalia from the north Give credit where credit is due waryaa
Carafaat Posted December 22, 2011 Why think it terms of winners iyo loosers? I rather think in terms of positive developments and room for improvement.

Abokor Omar Posted December 22, 2011 This list is biased and is from a pirate's point of view. We can appreciate if he assumes that Somaliland has lost something, to say otherwise would be treason. If you compare the way Somaliland deals with conflicts around it's borders to the gong-ho style of the pirate state, you will see first hand the subtle advanced techniques Sonaliland uses to find solutions to problems. This is the reason why the SSC folks will sooner or later fall in a single formation and walk to the beat of a happy Sonalilander, no matter how hard it's disapora community tries to kick start another part by you know who.. burahadeer Posted December 22, 2011 Bacaaaaaaaaaaac:D oohin badanaa.......yaab!!!!! What about all that selective killing of big people in Puntland!more killed there..and why killing 7 people in Borama & Erigavo that has nothing to do with politics & instigated by the otha side on the latter one is so significant! Loosers!
Freedom Posted December 22, 2011 ^^^ Burahadeer lets make our own lists of winners and lossers too lol.
Somalia Posted December 22, 2011 @Burahadeer This list shows what has been gained from actions. For example, people were targeted but that does not outweigh the stuff gained since people are killed in Somalia everyday, that is the reality. That is why Somaliland lost, its image depends on stability and unity, Puntland's does not, it benefits politically speaking because it will then seek outside funds That is why I mentioned the Galgala and Garsoor incidences. SOMALI You are typical Jam had. Those poor ssdf in 1980 were telling us, they are going to modish and only than they will make haircut. I like, your confidence but what you see a success; I do not count a success. Puntland may be rewarded temporarily for political position for their pro colonial policy. But again pay the price as sultans and Abdullah Yusuf did. The political of exile. Faroole and cambany do not have broad vision in Somalia and do not have many friends in Somalia political circle. He may able to put some fortune in his pocket, only some else steal from later. A puntland politician will not save Somalia from it is current situation
Somalia Posted December 23, 2011 Lol@Duufaan, Puntland just had a good year I am glad you acknowledge that, but maybe next year it will not have the same fun. What about the rest on the list, I think I have been fair.
