HACD’s current priority is to establish Mudug Library and Resource Center in Galkayo, Somalia, which will serve students, working professionals, entrepreneurs and all residents of Galkayo. Services of the Center will include a full-scale library collection and services, work readiness programs, adult education classes, community gathering spaces for conferences and seminars, family literacy activities and youth programs. The Board of Directors of HACD is working with community leaders in Galkayo to locate a suitable site for the project. On-Site Coordinator The Board of Director of HACD is looking for an enthusiastic on-site coordinator to locate and recommend a suitable site and propose to the Board of Directors program activities to be implemented before the Center becomes operational. Required qualifications for on-site coordinator • Knowledge of the city of Galkayo • Knowledge of local institutions, facilities and services • Experience working with or in local schools • Ability to work with local leaders, both official and traditional • Skills in communication, public relations and personal interaction • Program coordination and administrative skills and experience • Good oral and written proficiency in English and Somali • Computer and Internet proficiency, with dependable Internet access • Minimum education: bachelor’s degree Compensation HACD will offer compensation appropriate for the deliverables of this position.
