SayidSomal Posted November 15, 2011 Somalia Somalia is a failed state that directly threatens British interests. Tourists and aid workers kidnapped. Young British minds poisoned by radicalism. Mass migration. Vital trade routes disrupted. Meanwhile Somalis themselves suffer extreme famine, made worse by violence and some of the worst poverty on earth. We shouldn’t tolerate this. Somali pirates aren’t invincible: they are violent and lawless men in small boats and it is time we properly stood up to them. That’s why British vessels can now carry arms. But there is a real and pressing need to pull together the international effort. That is why Britain will host a major conference in London next year, to focus attention on… …protecting merchant ships passing through the Gulf of Aden… …tackling pirates… …pressurising the extremists… …supporting countries in the region… …and addressing the causes of conflict and instability in Somalia. President of Somaliland Foreign Office Minister Henry Bellingham meeting President Silanyo of Somaliland in London, 15 November 2011.
NGONGE Posted November 15, 2011 ^^ At least comment on the quote itself and in what context it was made, saaxib. As for the conference on piracy, which number is that one now? There seems to be one every year.
Archdemos Posted November 15, 2011 what are you alluding to here Mr Sayid. Please do comment sir. Mr Cameron is full of hot air, still thinking Britain is a global force to be reckoned with. Whatever plans he may have it probably wont be good for Somalis in general, they seldom seem to be these days.

Some told us we shouldn’t because they said it would only end in failure. Some said we couldn’t because they said Britain didn’t have the military might any more. Well, to those who predicted failure, look at what we have achieved. I agree with your sentiment saxiib

GoldCoast Posted November 15, 2011 Long ago declined global power, yearning for some relevance. This won't do it
Knight of Wisdom Posted November 15, 2011 I'm not surprised here. After being British slaves for over 140 years, the British denied to recognize it's Orphans in Hergeisa, Burco and Berbera. LMAO
