Puntland Marine Forces have been doing a great job, helping in the famine relief by taking water to the destitute nomads and engaging in 'humanitarian assistance'.

The troops are by far the most sophisticated in Somalia today as to their professionalism and training and supported by the brotherly Arab/muslim state of UAE.

They have been visited by US-Senator Kirk as well during his visit to Puntland

The PMF has been in controversy recently due to their nature and training as they can be used on land as well, this was then by a well-known person within the Monitoring group for Somalia&Eritrea exploited and made out to be a regional Super force that can threaten neighbouring administrations to the west and south of Puntland but that never materialisted. A smoke-screen and nothing else.

The PMF nature is totally peaceful.

Somalia it has been put that these 200 Marines are actually being trained by Japan I don't know/can varify at the moment when that will happen or if that had already taken place what I can however tell you is that other countries ought to follow the good example of UAE and engage Puntland and support it to train and equip its own Marine Forces. Japan did a great job of following UAE we need others to step up to the plate. We thank them all for their support and belief.
