Thinkerman Posted December 9, 2002 Personaly myself i would go for Ruud VAN nISRTIORY  , because everytime he is any where near the penalty box he seems to score, where as henry has devastating pace and fantastic off the ball running. But for me henry is a gr8 player, but i dont think a gr8 strker in the traditional sense and on startuday he reminded me why i didnt really rate him above Ruud.Van NIstirouy  . Cum'on Nomads i no there are a lot of Glory hunter in the somali community so the Gonners and Red Devils show urselves.

RaMpAgE Posted December 10, 2002 lol...shujui....how can u compare henry n van? it liek comparing godzilla to a fly... ...henry..has everything...pace...skill...good contorl....a complete player...who also set up....but van...is a taper...all he does is he stands in front of goal...yes that mite be a strikers job...but it doesn't mean hez a complete player... I REST MA CASE.........
WingA Posted December 10, 2002 hahahahahahaha rampage!! you gave me so much jokes!! what happened to ur "complete striker" on saturday?? did you see what van da man was doing to your defence?? lool.. known had to punch down!! how sad!! Van Da Striker
Thinkerman Posted December 10, 2002 lol Rampage i see ur a gooner huh. well i said henry is a gr8 player, gr8 off the ball running gr8 pace But knowhere near being a complete striker. But then i suppose if he scores so much he doesnt have to be. And com'on u havin a laugh when u say henry has got skill??? u sure there only one i have seen is his speed and that isnt a skill, i can admit though that he has become a bit of a dead specialist in these last few years. But For Van i think that goal against basel a few weeks back said it all.
H Posted December 10, 2002 first of all salamz 2 y'all..... Thinkerman Posted December 11, 2002 I can accept that Rampage.... that is that henry was and still is a winger trying to play in a striking position. As for you comments on Van i agree to a certain extent. He isnt a player like henry but then again not alot of people are Race doggs like Henry , and he hasnt got no finishing power. I conceed that he can score fee kicks some times, and some long shots. But the 'Acid Test' of a gr8 player is the one who scores his 'bread and butter' goals on bigg occasions, And that miss he had yesturday and the one he did againts Man U a week Back is why i personal would have Van instead of Henry. Henry has still got plenty of time to improve, and he should . 1) His heading 2) his left foot shots 3) his one on one with goal keepers 4) his attitude (he thinks his king henry) lol Maybe then he will become a complete player. But rUUD vAN is @ the mo much better. 1) Gr8 @ holding up the ball 2) left foot and right shooting 3) Can header 4) gr8 @ one v one with keepers and finally and most importantly 5) Scores crucial goals i.e. 2 against Leverkuson 2 against Basel
Baaniyal Posted December 11, 2002 first and foremost, i would like to congratulate the mancs on their victory over my gunners. My computer was down for a while, so i was too lazy to go to school to use the internet. Like wenger said, manu did nothin impressive, just they had more heart and grit than us! So they deserved their victory. The argument of who is a betta player has been discussed all over the internet soccer sites. Each payer has his own advantages and disadvantages. While henry has pace and betta all around play with hs teamates, ruud is the usual orthodox type of striker, with his clinical finishing. henry's finishing always lets him down, while ruud por antcis of diving, is making him look less of a player. U can argue this foreva as do the papers and media, in the end u will come to the conclusion of having both of dem in the same team, would be a devastating strike force! Caarif Posted January 17, 2003 RVL is a finisher a typical stiker, Henry on the other hand is an all round player, he can pass, run at people as well as score great goals. as for the comparison between Zidane and Owen, well i don't see how can any compare these players. peace

Thinkerman Posted August 29, 2003 Just thought i would confirm the official winners in this debate -------------------Van Nistelrooy wins award----------------- Van Nistelrooy is Europe's top striker Ruud van Nistelrooy was named the best striker in Europe at Uefa's 2003 Football Awards in Monte Carlo on Thursday. The Manchester United striker was honoured at Uefa's awards ceremony after he finished top scorer in last season's Champions League with 12 goals. But he played down his achievement by paying tribute to the rest of the Old Trafford squad. "Without the team, I would never have done it," said van Nistelrooy. "I play for a great team and I'm so proud to be one of those players, it's fantastic." Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was named Europe's most valuable player of last season following his fine performances in the Champions League. The 25-year-old, who became the world's most expensive keeper when he moved from Parma to Juve in 2001, was also named the best goalkeeper in the competition. Buffon won that award even though he could not prevent AC Milan winning the Champions League final on penalties at Old Trafford in May. Pavel Nedved, also from Juventus, picked up the award for the best midfielder. Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos was named best defender of last season. AC Milan skipper Paolo Maldini was given the Uefa president's award in recognition of his 17-year career and for captaining the winning side last season - the first time the award has gone to a current player. Celtic fans win award The Fair Play Award was handed to supporters of Celtic for the part they played in Europe last season and especially for the atmosphere they helped create on a memorable night in Seville at the Uefa Cup final against Porto in May. ---------------------------------------------------------
