Somalina Posted August 30, 2011 The president of the republic of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has extended his best wishes to all Muslims and in particular the Somali people as they celebrate Eid-ul-fitri which marks the end of Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Addressing the nation, the president called on faithfuls to extend their generosity towards the needy people during this time of drought and famine related crisis in the country. On security issues, the president urged the public to maintain the peace and victory they achieved in reference to the recent pull out of the rebels from all position in the capital, Mogadishu. He emphasized on the need to unite in achieving lasting peace and prosperity in the country. Lastly the president wished the public a prosperous year and happy Eid.
