Disgusting move by Faroole, but may be for the good of Somalia, nonetheless. The same issues from Sheikh Sharif may not have been accepted by the arch-tribalist Faroole.

Good News. In the meantime we build and push the nation-building efforts, PL should respect and abide by the federal laws on important matters related to the natural resources of the nation.

This is a good move from all parties concerned. I am sure the core issues of Federalism and Constitution writing will ultimately be decided by Somalis as Puntland understands it cannot impose a solution that the rest of Somalis do not want. However, in the transitional period the only politically palatable approach is a regional framework on the basis of what the current transitional charter outlines. And this agreement surely falls within that guidelines.

 

Hope this resolves the political animosity between Faroole and Sharif.
