Kenya DEVISED the plan. Odinga lobbied Farmajo to recognize Azania. Kenya's desires are clear, and I daresay understandable. But one finds the grade level analysis of mutual interest and the like on the board quite typical of us Somalis.

Azania predates farmajo and I doubt his endorsement was ever needed, Farmajo had more pressing issues to deal with in Villa Somalia.

 

As for Kenyan involvement we can go back and forth with it, for the moment this "maamul" is here to stay and from what they achieved in Celwaaq and Dhoobley they can secure more ground and those vacuums will be filled by the maamul we speak of here.Al-shabab is weak in "Jubboyinka", Kismayo may the only centre they can offer strong resistance.

Enough said, already on this topic. However, fact remains Azania is not on the ground where it matters the most. Alshabaab however one opposes them is real force on the ground fending off neighboring countries from multiple fronts, and still holding unto strategic cities such as Kismayo, Beledweyne, Baydhabo, Marka, Barawe and Mogadishu (Airport, Harbor, and Villa Somalia, and perhaps few districts excluded).

 

Simply put, the two are not comparable. But time will tell where Prof. Gandi's academic paper on Latin names will lead.

Xiinow I see no other alternative for the 3 regions at this point in time even if the price of peace is making a few concessions to Kenya(as you claim) its beats the seemingly never ending turmoil.We will wait for a rainy day to make our case against the region for now peace is the objective.

The history of both names are out there, I am just pointing out that it is ironic to question somebody's name when your own name aint that cool. Neither Azania nor "Puntland" is a Somali name.
