They are not the same as the Islamic Courts Union which I supported, and represented all the variations of islamic practice in Somalia. Al-Shabab, according to me, and I should know more than any of us, are just terroist with no knowledge of the deen. Most where in the war-lord gangs before Islamic Courts gained prominence. So don't think just because someone says they are fighting in the name of Islam it means they are on side of Haqq. These guys are very dangerous and shed the peoples blood without shame.Peace is what Somalia needs.I advise my brothers in Somalia to put your weapons down, fighting eachother has only brought harm, so much so that the majority of Somalis don't even live in Somalia anymore.
