1st of July: The Dark Day for Somaliland

Happy Independence Day for Somalis in Somalia .......

 

 

Having a glance at the failed union ,,, This day is a really dark day for Somaliland. I congratulate the Somalilanders for their honesty, patriotic decision and taking the lead to unite all Somalis in the horn of Africa.

 

The supposedly a "great day" turned into a dark day as those Somalis in Somalia did not have a concept about the said "Union" and finally demolished their supposedly own country killing their supposedly own people.

 

Dark day we lost what we had ..... dark day we lost our sovereignty ,,, dark day that all the work to unite all Somalis failed by the hands of those greedy so called politicians in Somalia.

Really? Define somaliland/somalilanders? I think you should say, ISQLand/ISQLanders because many don't share this view..

Happy Union day for somalis who care about unity. Stumbling alone the way is part of life.. Somalis fell and they need to stand up and learn from mistakes and move on rather living agony of past. Union was not a mistake and unity shall never be a mistake but individuals blundered. Those individuals did and will do mistakes regardless of succession or union.. Calling unity was wrong is simply blind sighting the actual faults..

Watch out with the qabil names. You're not fooling anyone when you say ISQ. If you can't put forward your arguments without resorting to calling out clan names then maybe you shouldn't be debating at all.

If the so called somaliland had achieved indepedence they would have had civil war earlier than somalia. A certain clan would have hoarded all the power and marginalized the others just like now and khatumo would have been 1970's, then awdal would have joined the and finally the SNM clan would have splintered as it about to do now.

^^ In Somaliland there is not a powerful clan or one clan above the other the political culture in Somaliland is totally different when compared to Somalia. The smallest clan will never allow some else taking his rightful place in the country. Somaliland has a strong traditional back ground the elders of Somaliland are the real leaders of Somaliland.

Its wasn't a dark day, weeks or even month before the union Somaliland delegation to the south accepted all the conditions:

 

1- Thaat both top position will be given to the south

2- that Mogadisho will be the capital

3- the top milliteray commander will be from the south.

 

It was us who robbed ourselves, the south didn't care much about "somaliweyn"

^ africans will never ever be able to build prosperous, successfull countries as long motivation is qabyaalad. SL case is pure clan vechicle for political power, so it will not succeed at all.
