Which is really sad. Both of them might have not had a negative experience and they behave like that. Waah waah waxaasaa cajalad ah, malaha labadaba cajaladdii la gashtay baa shaqaysay! nuune Posted June 28, 2011 Sorry not to hijack this smooth Caravan, but here is Abdiwali's list of priority, in order: 1- Nairobi visit on second week of July 2- Kampala visit on the same second week of July 3- Addis visit on third week of August, host iftaar dinner at Zenawa's palace. All the 3 vists, Sakiin will accompany two of them(Nairobi & Addis). Abdiwali will travel to Kampala alone(no Sharif or Sakiin), but with only 1 minister, information minister. When all that is accomplished(the first 2 visits), Abdiwali will announce his cabinet selection, then on his third visit is when he travells to Addis to discuss possible sacking of 3 ministerial positions he announced on mid July. Anigu faaliye ma ihi laakin faal-gurey waan aqaan si loo rido.

Libaax-Sankataabte Posted June 29, 2011 My good friend Xiin, here is what I would tell the PM if he called LST's office today. 1. Focus on setting a positive tone for the country. Time is very short, but take useful baby steps to enhance unity among clans and rebuild governmental institutions (nation-building). Not much can be completed in one year, but "sacrifice the trivial many for the vital few" and take the steps that will have the biggest impact on the psyche of the nation (clan unity, rebuild institutions) 2. Use the previous team including your old boss Farmajo in some capacity to help the new team (farmajo in diplomatic office somewhere outside would be suitable.) 3. Since you have no choice on the 50-50 cabinet deal, include the most competent of Sakiin’s camp in the cabinet (preferably Juriile, the smartest Somali MP alive today) and fight corruption even if you have to micromanage the most vulnerable ministries. 4. Convince President Shariif to visit Puntland in order to set a positive tone for national unity and reconciliation. I am positive he will be well received. 5. At the very least, maintain earlier gains on security and pay the salaries of civil servants and the men keeping the peace. This can only be done if internal corruption is minimized and donor money is directed to where it belongs. Salaama.
Qandalawi Posted June 29, 2011 Abdi Wali neither has the time nor the freedom to act at will to better the situation in Somalia. My advice to him is to plan an immediate coup against Shariif Sakiin , surely he will not have an easy time doing his tasks freely while this man has power. Sakiin is a done deal and soon will be a goner, he has created so much enemies for himself and all Somalis dislike him anyway. All that's left is to do is a little push that's required, which is to dismantle the little outside and UN contacts that Shariif Sakiin enjoys, that will bury the speaker alive and them remove him from the speaker position by gathering enough MP's against him, but will the new PM be able to do that? Is he willing to do it? that's a different matter. I don't think the state of affairs of the country could be fixed while such man is in power.
Qandalawi Posted June 29, 2011 ^Sheikh Sakiin is gone, its only a matter of time and a matter of who braves to take him down, any man who becomes famous in Somalia is the sense of power is ultimately bound to go down, that is history. We have seen so many other powerful men disappear let alone Mr. Sakiin who has no backbone when it comes to geo-clan-politics.
Qandalawi Posted June 29, 2011 ^Sxb you are so much detached from Somali politics or perhaps lack basic comprehension of it, you stack in the past years still singing "God save the Queen" and Zenawi is Papa. It's not Zenawi but Musevani that's the power broker, he's the man in charge and who the TFG in Magadishu are responsible to as assigned to him by the UN and the International community. Its Kampala and not Addis that channels of communication the Villa is linked to, its the head of the Ugandan army who arrived Mogadishu and ordered the resignation of Farmaajo within hours and not any call from Addis. Addis is irrelevant, you are miles of years behind, I pity you.

Good on him.
