London2010 Posted June 11, 2011 This nonsense has been going on for too long. We need invasive actions and quick. Why doesn't the TFG appeal to the US to send in drones into Somalia. AS and it's leaders could be picked out very easily. Creating the fear and paranoia, that can destabilise them. The Drones can operate for 24 hours, so high in the sky, that they can't be seen or heard but they can see you and instantly use missiles to kill everything on target. London2010 Posted June 11, 2011 What do you mean too much movies. Look at what the drones do in Pakistan. Are you blind to their success.
Jacaylbaro Posted June 11, 2011 Somalia is much much different from Pakistan niyow ,,,,, wax fahan
London2010 Posted June 11, 2011 In what way. The land is flat and sparse. You telling me those moving convoys of AS are not perfect fodder for the Drones. 30 AS are in those trucks. Do that 100 times and 3000 of them are dead.
ANWAR Posted June 11, 2011 NO THANKS........cuz if America interferes in Somalia more than it does now, then there will be more luxury for the extremists to come

The American people won't accept it, they've seen Black Hawk Down, why waste billions of dollars? Yemen and PAkistan can be explained by saying these people want to attack us, but what are they going to say about Shabab that can't execute attacks like al-Qaeda. Secondly, why would you want more destruction on your people, most of the people killed in Waziristan are civilians. You're the same person that says 'I hate Arabs' and 'Israel is a fantastic country'. Sometimes I even think you're not Somali.

When it comes to foreign policy the President makes the decisions. I'm not advocating troop presence. The drones are controlled in a base in Nevada. No troops need ever be present. It is clear that targeted attacks is needed. Alshabaab can be easily defeated. Drones are a fantastic tool, as they are silent killers.
Shabelle Posted June 13, 2011 lol, you're kidding, right? Why on Earth would the Americans do that? U.S foreign policy for Somalia is summed up in one word: Chaos. For as long as chaos prevails in Somalia, the U.S has absolutely no need to intercede whatsoever. It does not matter to them who is fighting for who or for what reasons. Chaos = mission accomplished. Complete Posted June 13, 2011 Who says they're not flying over Somalia now? They are and have been for a while.
Sensei Posted June 13, 2011 They figured out that the skinies will wipe themselves out, and no need to directly participate. But in all seriousness, the use of drones requires intense intelligence capabilities which are not in place now. If it ever becomes viable option, it would probably be covert CIA mission with zero liability of any death & destruction.
