Saalax Posted May 10, 2011 SOMALIA: Ethiopian forces arrest Somali MP in Dolow DOLOW (RBC) Ethiopian forces arrested Somalia parliament member Col. Barre Adam Shire (known as Barre Hirale) in Dolow district on Ethiopian border, RBC Radio reports. The arrest of Col. Barre Hirale, also a former warlord in southern Somalia follows dispute about the process of the ongoing military offensive against Al-Shabab led by Ethiopian forces. Reliable sources confirmed RBC Radio that Col. Barre was not just satisfied with the current military plans to eliminate Al-Shabab fighters from Somalia’s southern regions where Barre hails from. He is jailed in Dolow prison run by the Ethiopian forces and there are no reports on his condition, unnamed sources told RBC Radio. Col. Barre has never taken part on the sessions of the parliament even though his name is still written on the list, but instead he was serving as military commander for government’s war drive against Al-Shabab.
