Che -Guevara Posted April 30, 2011 ^That's relief-good to know he actually does something useful other than staging useless demos. So, what sort of development are talking about since you know the guy and the region?
Saalax Posted April 30, 2011 This is a new governor that was named last year. So far under his rule in the region less than a year. Oodweyne General Hospital has been reopened after a longtime, Oodweyne TB Hospital also has been opened. He made sure the drought aid from the sland admin reached the most vulnerable people directly and no masmasuq(corruption). He made sure the police, military of the region are paid. So many things that i can't recall now.
Che -Guevara Posted April 30, 2011 ^That's good, all under one year. How big is the town and what's population size?
Saalax Posted May 1, 2011 There is no actual census. The estimations are between 15-20 thousand residents in the town. And 50-60k overall for the region. However in the Somaliland national referendum 2001 atleast 57,166 have voted in this region. And that was 10 years ago.

Che -Guevara Posted May 1, 2011 Saalax......For some reason, I thought it was more than that. There's not much on info about it online. Xaaji.....What do you know what about history of the town?
Saalax Posted May 1, 2011 Che -Guevara. Populations shift. Alot of this region's residents have immigrated to Hargeysa & Burco in recent years. Hence why we seen in 2005 Parliamentary elections some candidates who were originally from Oodweyne but were actually chosen in Hargeysa & Burco regions. Som@li Posted May 1, 2011 Very simplistic and narrow minded, Calanka BUULUGA ah muxuu dhimay, haday runtahay ba.. It is sad to how opportunistic politicians play with Somali emotions, It was yesterday Faroole telling the crowd in Bosaaso some absurd stories , and crowds cheer, and here you find many brainwashed and absorbed by hatred.
