Odinga, Farmaajo discuss Azania

 

 

Kenyan PM Raila Odinga has on Thursday met his Somali counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi (Farmajo) over the burning issues of regions bordering with Kenya

 

Its’ understood that Raila invited Mohamed to discuss dispute over newly established regional administration called Azania State of Somalia which will govern region bordering with Kenya, Kenya sees this administration to establish a buffer zone from Alshabab’s imminent terrorism threat, but the transitional government objects this administration over unclassified grounds.

 

The president of Azania Prof. Mohamed Abdi Gandhi is a former defense minister and has being planning this administration for two years, Kenya helped him train some two thousand troops which are already on the ground, they recently wrested control of Dhobley from Alshabab

 

Prof. Gandhi fallout with president Sheik Sharif over the deployment of the troops, Sharif wanted the troops to be deployed to Mogadishu to help him repel Alshabab, but Gandhi refused that, insisting that the troops were recruited from Juba and Gedo Provinces and there is no way they should go to elsewhere.

 

It seems their disputes spilled to the cabinet which some days before sent ministerial delegation to Dhobley where pro- Azania troops gained control, this is said to be infuriated Kenyan government as a result here comes this meeting between the Primes Ministers

 

Odinga told Farmajo to tak ehis hands off Azania and mind his own business in Mogadishu and guard the relationship between the governments.

 

But the two filed a diplomatic tone in a news conference yesterday in Nairobi before two hours closed-doors meeting, Odinga said that Kenya is committed to help Somali government and to stabilize neighboring region, while Mohamed said “every regional administration should be established under the government consultation” .

I think Prof. Gandhi is a smart man for refusing Sheikh Sharif's demands for those trained two thousand troops to be sent to Mogadishu instead of Jubboyiinka (which they were designed to liberate those regions). Why doesn't Sheikh Shariff ask for the training of his own troops from his own regions ( Jowhar, Ceeldheere, wankaweyn, Shabellaha dheexe etc to be sent to Mogadishu.

oba hiloowlow why doesn't Sheikh Sharif visit Puntland? is it because his clan president? or Qaran president?

Secondly remember the Jubba troops they are Gandhi's trained soldiers not just any random troops, why would Gandhi send them to Mogadishu when the regions he hails from need to be liberated first? His just putting his priorities first can't blame the old guy.
