There have been far too many tragic incidents involving children these past few weeks in Toronto, accidental and otherwise.
GaraadMon Posted September 10, 2013 His rights, as a convicted drug trafficker ordered deported to Somalia, were deemed more important than the guaranteed safety of Canadian citizens. And so, despite warnings that Bashir Gaashaan was a flight risk who posed a danger to the public, Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board let him go — a freedom that lasted exactly one year and eight months. On June 15, 2011, RCMP in Alberta announced they had arrested Gaashaan, charging him with first-degree murder, unlawful confinement, offering an indignity to human remains, sexual assault and trafficking in cocaine. The body of Jenna Cartwright, 21, a young mom from Red Deer, had been discovered in a ditch near Olds — and police believe the man ordered out of Canada two years earlier killed her. torontofinest Posted September 11, 2013 I know this is off topic, but Toronto police are talking to somali parents from rexdale and dixion areas about their sons on joining the force in the future . I heard their is only like 2 somali police officers in toronto police force, but they said they want ''more''. I doubt that will ever happen though. but they are trying to really really recruit somalis in particular. I only know ''two'' 20 year olds, that are somali guys who are in college taking the Police Foundation course. But I doubt their will ever be 15 police officers of somali decent. Toronto police is only struggling with the Somali Community, and they honestly need help. Too many of the guys that are getting arrested in Toronto, is of the somali decent. Khayr Posted September 26, 2013 So sad to see this. We are seeing how kids turn out in poor single mother Somali homes. The girls become educated and the boys become unemployed and turn to crime.
