Aaliyyah Posted March 30, 2011 when I was younger I used to ask my sister to tell me tht story abt cilmi bodhari and she would always say that she will tell me one day when im old enough lol..somehow many years have passed and I totally forgot abt that story...... I mean I know bits and pieces abt how he was a baker and she was a rich girl and that he killed himselef at the end because he was madly in love with her and she was promised for another...but not the whole story. Who can tell me where one can buy such books??..

General Duke Posted March 30, 2011 . ^^^Aaliyah, there is no mention of a suicide in the story. He died of a sickness, over time he started to get weaker, stopped eating food and passed away. Death from a "broken heart" can occur, if a person is sick physically then decides to give up and not fight. It has happened throughout history, however there was no suicide involved. Aaliyyah Posted March 30, 2011 He died of a sickness, over time he started to get weaker, stopped eating food and passed away If he stopped fighting for his life then that is still some form of suicide...aint it? anyhow who can prove now that he died cuz he didnt want to fight his disease and not because the disease overtook him? ppl are romantic creatures. Why would he give up his life for some girl??.....even thou I believe in the concept of love most romantic stories stretch it a little..lol at the end of the day I love myself more than anyone else bt maybe thats just me! hahha anyhow where can I buy these books? are there novels out there abt cilmi bodhari's story or any other somali romantic story? BOB Posted March 30, 2011 Boodhari’s name has become synonymous with love amongst Somalis just as much as Imam Gurey and Sayyid M. Abdulle Hassan’s names have become synonymous with patriotism. His tragedy seduces your conscience and fulfils one’s ideal romanticism and fantasy but with a different fate of course, every girl would love to be loved totally, fully and wholeheartedly just as much any guy would love to be madly, fully and completely in love with his chosen abaayo macaan and whether you want to deny it or accept it we are all capable of loving just as much, it’s just that we haven’t been cursed with Boodhari’s destiny which is the most tragic one I’ve ever heard. As a nation we are all inspired by Boodhari’s unconditional love towards Hodan, his commitment, bravery, loyalty, dedication and above all faithfulness, you can’t help it but admire the man’s bravery even if in the end it caused his untimely death but I guarantee you, had he been given the opportunity, he would’ve done it again but this time I am sure he wouldn’t have fallen sleep and miss Hodan. After Imam Ahmed Gurey and Sayyid Muhammad Abdulle Hassan, Boodhari is the third most famous Somali man amongst the Somalis from all corners of the country, that is how much people adore him and I don’t think people will ever stop talking about him as long as there’s one of us on this earth. I most certainly won't... Peace, Love & Unity.
