Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi (Farmajo) is planning to sack two ministers from his cabinet over alleged poor performance of their ministries, Garowe Online has learnt.

Farmajo is discussing with President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed about removal of two ministers who are very close to the president.

Sources privy to the Prime Minister said Home Affairs, Industrial ministers and deputy minister of youth, sports and labour may lose their posts.

Farmajo plans also to reshuffle his cabinet, and change Information and Defence ministers from their ministries.

Power struggle continues in the Horn of African nation as Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed sides with President Sharif Ahmed whose rival and current parliament speaker Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden is plotting an attempt to oust the president when his term comes to an end in the upcoming August.

Somalia was without functioning government since 1991 when clan warlords overthrew Siad Barre’s administration.
