Thankful Posted February 9, 2011 SSC attacked? Wasn't the news for the last few months that your enclave had the rebels surrounded and closing in on them? So how are SSC the attackers? If you surrounded someone that is an act of aggression! The SSC freedom fighters are responding and defending against that hostility. I highly doubt the SSC fighters and leadership are worried at all about your militia reinforcements. But I am certain they will definitely let the media know that they simply want to remain part of Somalia and are being attacked by a group that do not hold that goal. And saying the rebels are "Puntland based." Remember your own officials are implicating Garowe! So according to Hargeysa we are not sidelined and in fact are very much involved! Just remember, the armed opposition (SSC) right now are fighting and saying they don't want to be part of seceding from Somalia!.....I don't think you and your secessionists understand the magnitude of this and how much it hurts your agenda. You see, it would be one thing if they said we are fighting for 'more representation in your gov't', or 'they want more development from your government'. But they are not! They are saying very clearly "We want to remain with Somalia'........Thus, you need to understand that your quest to gain international recognition and allies is being destroyed by the fact that you have fighting taking place in one of your alleged regions by a group that is against you breaking away. According to eyewitnesses in the town of Burao, hundreds of heavily army vehicles were heading to the flashpoint areas to confront an armed clan militia backed by Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland. The Sool, Sanaag and Ceyn group, abbreviated as SSC, on early mornings of Monday launched a counter-attack against army positions in the village of Kalshale. The army was originally moved to the area to shore up a fragile ceasefire between two warring local clans who clashed over grazing pasture and water sources after a server drought. So it seems NWsomaliapress is finally letting the truth come out. That the SSC conducted a "counter-attack", meaning they responded to an attack from the hargeysa militia....and it was not the SSC attacking first.
