AYOUB Posted June 14, 2003 Over the last few months, soft drinks with the names Qibla and Mecca cola have appeared in Europe. These brands are Muslim owned and promise to donate a certain percentage of their profit to charity. As someone who is pro Muslim-owned business ventures I first thought it was a good idea but i'm begging to have some doubts. Is the use of these names( Qibla and Mecca) commercialization of places we regard as sacred? Is it wise to copy products considered symbols of capitalism?. Please help me!
