Should there be an [Islamic Economic Community] like the EU to offset China, the West India?

An Islamic Economic Community, with a single market, single currency and encopmasing the whole Islamic world. With Indonesia, Pakistan,Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt playing the key role of steering the community.

 

In an ever more global world the nation state seems to be a fraud and one thats breaking the back of the average Muslim.

An intriguing idea. With the Islamic world encompassing several continents and with the frictions caused by culture, different Islamic schools of thought, discrepancies in economic health and might, etc it would be one hell of a challenge. The Arabs alone can't agree on anything let alone the rest of the Muslim world.

Now we have a Billion Chinese on the rise, India with its many sects, Europe with its history of wars and differences in languages and religious beliefs all in a single community allied with the US and Canada. The Muslim world has to react, theese people have a single faith in common and being the enemies of all the rising powers as well as established ones.

 

A single economic community will go along way to breaking barriers. The rich and powerful can fund the poor, who's land can provide food, and who's population much needed labour.

 

The fact that they occupy vast distant lands also gives this community a strategic power over others.

 

1.6 billion and more, covering Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Young and growing population, thirsty for education.

And a history to match that of China and Rome.

 

The islamic identity is a universal one, and can no longer be downplayed by the west and its media.

Well, that's true. As a single entity, the Islamic world would be a formidable opponent, as history shows. But are we at the right stage to overcome all the obstacles in our path? Not least the fat, well-fed, dictatorial leadership currently in place. Think they would want to bite the hand that currently feeds them so well? No, I think they are very happy with how things are at the moment.

 

Nevertheless, you're right. Whilst the rest of the world is integrating and realigning to boost trade and security, we are breaking down into smaller bits and pieces.

^^Val, first we must think of breaking these artificial barriers and then we can work on the implementation. Who know when the right time is, but the poverty of the Islamic world and its youth driven societies can no longer be kept stagnant.

 

Somalina, the Arabs make up less than 10% of the Muslim world. I am not focusing on them however no one can ignore their [Arabs] required contribution in this.

 

The Muslim world will encompass all those who share in the faith. The 40 million Muslims of Europe, the highly educated Muslims of North America. The millions in China, the vast numbers in India. The powerhouses such as Turkey, Indonesia [300 million], Iran and those in North Africa and in Nigeria. The Muslim world is young, full of vitality and diverse.

^^^No I am saying Muslim's should not accept the situation that they are in. They are the ones being exploited. Through Unity they can overcome much. Leveraging their geographical size and population they can achieve greatness.
