Dear Friends and Fellow Citizens,

As an advisor to the Somaliland President on Economy, Commerce, and

Investments, one of my responsibilities is to raise public awareness of

these sectors and passing public concern of related issues to the President.

In that aspect I would like to have your opinions, ideas and comments

in transparent and open forum.

In this Facebook group, we will share ideas to promote national economy

for the public good. Small ideas create big projects and no project is too

small to be ignored. We have a long way to go, but be cognizant, every

long journey starts with petite step. Let us take first step together

to build prosperous Somaliland, where rule of the law is the norm

Please be constructive and think positive. We need ideas to change

culture of taking and paying back nothing. We call for views to improve

current business environment of sole traders and champion formation of

companies and cooperatives. It is imperative to increase productivity

for economic growth. That implies eradicating bureaucratic unnecessary

knots.

We ought to overhaul our working practices, modernize systems, and

shape our rules and regulation for upholding good governance in all

aspects of economic life. We target to institute an accountable and

transparent policies and procedures in all our commercial dealings,

contracts and investments both public and private That will help us

attract foreign investments necessary to exploit our virgin land,

funding major industrial and agricultural projects, but not to the

expense of our local businesses

Debate clearly, precisely and avoid finger pointing. We are here to

get ideas that can deliver. No time for empty hot air full of regret

and past mistakes. Think ahead and drive forward. Take part

of decision process to-day for better future. Together we can offer our

developing democracy a solid foundation of economic growth and

better quality of life for our citizens.

This is from NW***********.com and it Finally seems like the secessionists are coming back to reality. Now even their maps are slowly becoming more accurate and the fact that they accepted the 2- track policy with Puntland is further evidence that their past delusions are fading way.

 

Seems the new leader is steering the country in a more sane direction.

Those lines are optic fiber glass cables (and not borders) which will connect some cities and villages. If Badhan, Oodweyneh or Dilla are missing on the map, then it means they won't be connected to the main cables.

If this map is indeed accurate, I think there is a good reason why NW Somalia is unable to include Sanaag in the placement of these cables! Same reason why ballot boxes were never sent there.

First of try and show some civility!

 

Second, I am pretty certain that the map is self-explanatory! If you look at it, the towns and cities marked with green and yellow squares and have a black line running through them indicate where the cables will run!

 

If you notice the cities and towns in Sanaag you mentioned have no black line or those coloured squares on them.

 

Finally, I searched for this article posted last month from the same site that the map came from. It cleary proves what the map is clearly showing.

 

This week somcable has completed most of their surveys covering total distance of 1200 Km in land. Covering Berbera to Las-anod border of punt land, Berbera to Tog-wajale border in Ethiopia, then Berbera to Lowya-Ado boder in Djibouti.

 

The construction of Berbera landing Station is also expected to be completed in mid January, as well as main Hargeisa Branch.
