This statement coming from the leader of the SNM militia or as they prefer to be called “Somaliland” is a clear sign of clan cleansing and a declaration of using force to deprive the rights of the people to have the dignity to live peacefully in their territories. It was not a long time ago that the same leader proclaimed in 1991 that he and his people of ***** will not allow others to be the authority in their clan territories.( March 1991, Silanyo, proposal to SNM A Framework for a Transitional Government.). I would not be surprised that the same leader, who belong to those, who are responsible of the present day catastrophic situation of the whole Somali nation, has not yet learnt from the past. His intention is apparent and that his end goal is to set fire on the only remaining part of Somalia, which in the past few years remained peaceful and the clans observed their peaceful co-existence. We are all aware of the present situation in Somalia. The groups that follow the extreme ideologies either clan based as the SNM militias from the North-West in the northern part of Somalia or the religion based groups of Al-Shabaab in the south of the country have one mission in common and that is to use terror in order to force the civilian population either to flee from their homes or accept their absolute authority. In addition to that inhuman act is the other factor of wiping out anything that could symbolize Somali nationalism.
