Taleexi Posted December 27, 2010 Mr. Osman, a classmate of the Born Again Secessionist, Mr. Sifir has put in his place... Please, read an excerpt of the piece below and its full version on WDN "I read an interview you gave to Somaliland.org on your return to Hargeisa. Obviously endearing yourself to the secessionists, you justified the breakaway of Somaliland from Somalia by drawing a false analogy with other failed unions. To say the least, your reasoning is seriously flawed. Those other countries, such as the former USSR and Yugoslavia, broke up after reaching a common accord. That is not the case with Somaliland. One clan opted for secession and today's Somaliland is a one clan entity no matter how cleverly it is packaged. How sad that yesterday you were defending the union when you were a minister in the TFG and today you are defending the secession! So much for consistency. Qodax Qorax Posted December 28, 2010 While he started about Sifir and how he changes his positions. then the author jumps to a completely anpother topic. The author is hilarious. Check the last three sentence's and conclusion of the article. Without the support of the SSC regions, Somaliland quest as a separate independent country is doomed, and you can be sure that SSC will never accept to secede from Somalia. They will fight tooth and nail to resist the occupation and the secession. The sooner this is realised and accepted in Hargeisa, the better for all concerned. It will spare us a bloody conflict not much different from the South. Perhaps, you will redeem yourself and tell this to the president.
AYOUB Posted December 29, 2010 I read an interview you gave to Somaliland.org on your return to Hargeisa. Basic fact checking would have prevented historically inaccurate claim by the author of the letter. The Baltic States and Georgia declared their independence from the USSR when Gorbachev was in power and were only recognised by Yeltsin after the failed Communist Coup. As for the former Yugoslavia, it took a bloody civil war for Serbians to finally accept the self-determination wishes of the other entities. As for Sifir the politician, time will tell of his motives behind his latest actions.
Qodax Qorax Posted December 30, 2010 Ayoub his motives are very clear. Its comprehending reality. The TFG is dead, there wont be anymore western funded goverments, Somaliland has become a reality that Sifir, western goverments and even the TFG is faced with. Did you know they have asked(US, UN, EU) Siilaanyo to lead and organise a peace iniative/conference!! The King is dead, long live the King.
