Somalina Posted December 23, 2010 Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at 10:05 pm An anarchist group is reported claiming responsibility for Thursday's mail bombs at the Swiss and Chilean embassies in Rome, which wounded two people. The Italian news agency ANSA reports police found the claim in a note at one of the blast sites. ANSA identifies the group as the Informal Anarchic Federation. The note says it has decided to make its voice heard with words and actions. Italian authorities have not yet commented on the report. Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said previously that the bombings are probably linked to what he calls “very violent” anarchist groups that also present in Spain and Greece and are closely tied. Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini condemned the bombings. Thursday's blasts in Rome are similar to a wave of parcel bombs in Greece last month targeted Western leaders and embassies. One person was wounded in those attacks. Thursday's blasts came during increased concerns in Europe about possible holiday season attacks, after a recent suicide bombing in Stockholm and this week's arrests of 12 terror suspects in Britain.
