NGONGE Posted December 20, 2011 A Somali guy stopped me in the street and gave me a sad story about arrving from Somalia just this week, having two young sons with bullets still lodged in their bodies and losing both his parents (very recently) in the Somali capital. He then proceeded to ask me for two pounds to buy something to eat! I had no choice but to give them to him but (because I don't believe a word he says) I did say "two pounds will not pay for an operation to dislodge those bullets or bring the parents back but if they help you have a meal or DRINK, here you go. Though I feel you should have asked for more, shall I give you more?" .......the barb must have hit its mark, or, my friend is a philosopher that does not worry himself about "birds on trees". He said "maya, laba pound..laba pound" even when I pretended to search my pockets for more. Now I'm wondering if he were genuine.
