NGONGE

Your words, Malika, remind me of an Algerian song I used to listen to. The singer is now dead but the words and lamentations apply (or will apply) to us all:

Yesterday, when I was happy with my youthfulness

And lost in love and passion

I was TWENTY

Yesterday, the waves were ebbing & flowing

The bodies were strong and swaggering

O rose of my years

Yesterday, I was TWENTY

Yesterday, when I was bursting with youth

Along with the best of my friends

The night, the darkness and love

And staying up all night

I was TWENTY

I was elequent and carefree

And the girls I talked to fell for me

Yesterday, yesterday, I was TWENTY

Yesterdy, among the seas and waves

Love used to increase my lust

And the secret were those blonde hairs

Or the ones that occupied the rest (of my friends)

Yesterday, I was TWENTY

Yesterday, yesterday...I was TWENTY!

Ma kaligay baa? :D

I don't know about Jacaylbaro, but me and my dumaashi are not on our death bed to be singing songs like that yet - adiguse waaba qiratay already. :D

Dumaashi - you shouldn't have corrected that word - dhimaatadaas was more suited - given the song write is dead and Ngonge is........ well ..gonna die one day :D
