Crazy Cat LAdy Posted August 30, 2009 Hello all, this is my first post, I was wondering if anyone here is studying International Relations and if they know what kind of careers are linked, cheers!
Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted August 30, 2009 Welkam, and no, I am not studying that. That field, international relations, mostly leads to into a diplomatic life or an NGO career, methinks.
Jacaylbaro Posted August 30, 2009 I'm thinking of doing my Masters degree but not sure coz International relations is one of my fav subjects.
Crazy Cat LAdy Posted August 30, 2009 Im doing IR as an undergraduate right now but its such a broad subject so I was a little unsure career-wise, diplomacy sounds interesting though

fellow Posted August 31, 2009 But you must know that international affairs is not usually chosen for it's high financial compensations as you will mainy be working in none-profit sectors. How ever, if you complement it with, say, with engineering or economics double masters--then you are into some thing lolll. GOOD luck sis.
Jacaylbaro Posted August 31, 2009 It was one of the requirements when i was doing Degree in Journalism .... that is why i need to study this even if it is a diploma .. just to be in the topic.
Crazy Cat LAdy Posted September 2, 2009 Engineering and international relations as a double masters? That sounds a bit random, maybe thats more of a US thing...

Fext Posted January 2, 2010 Many careers - as some have stated already diplomacy, but also in banks and the private sector overall. It depends on what interests you, but the industry is highly competitive so you want to be near the top of your cohort if you want that top-tier grad position. Haatu Posted January 2, 2010 My brother is currently doing it. He plans to work with the UN. I guess it leads to that sort of thing.
