Conspiracy Posted August 7, 2009 Hey guys, I've been bit busy lately at work and all and didn't have time to post anything so here we go I am offering couple of stuff here. SUE:BETA; I always wanted to make a mashup and finally had a chance to create something exciting, but brief overview of what is a maskup. 'In web development, a mashup is a web page or application that combines data or functionality from two or more external sources to create a new service. The term mashup implies easy, fast integration, frequently using open APIs and data sources to produce results that were not the original reason for producing the raw source data. An example of a mashup is the use of cartographic data to add location information to real estate data, thereby creating a new and distinct Web service that was not originally provided by either source.' I am using Google Maps, Yahoo upcoming Api and Guardian Api, at the moment it works fine on all the decent browser (webkit browsers i.e. firefox , chrome and safari ) didn't test on Internet Explorer. http://www.mjama.com /sue Popular API's: http://code.google.c om/apis/maps/ http://www.flickr.co m/services/api/ http://upcoming.yaho o.com/services/api/ Guardian Api; This is a simple service that queries the guardian api for popular news etc, http://mjama.com/pl ayground/guardian SlideySlide; (free to download & use ) This is a simple slide show using jquery you could download the source code from my website http://mjama.com/pla yground/slide DragDrop Navigation/ (free to download & use) this is a creative way to navigate a site using drag and drop quite fun to play with. http://mjama.com/pla yground/dragdrop/ Enjoy and remember everything is POC just me having some spare time, if you want to use of them go ahead and have fun just view source and you should get everything you need, if you get stuck post on the forum please don't email or private message
