Caano Geel Posted November 22, 2006 dude, somali was only formally transcribed (latin alphabet) in 1972. So if its written in the somali we read now, it couldnt of been written before '72. If it looks older older than that, it could of been written in the Osmanya alphabet, developed in 1920's by Sheik Yaasiin Cismaan Yuusuf Keenadiid (the dude SOL'S very own Zafir has as avatar).
