Sharmarkee Posted January 30, 2006 Salaam, Julaybib, The Unlilely Hero People often look down upon others if they are handicaped, short, less attractive or different in any way. But underneath the skin and the body, we're allthe same, and Allah only considers the soul of a person . There will be many good-looking and strong people on the Day of judgment being thrown in the fire. Only Taqwa makes us valuable in Allah' Sight. Julaybib was a poor man from Medina. He had no family, no tribe and what was worse was that he was short, slightly deformed and looked funny. People used to make fun of him and tease him wherever he went. He truly was an unfortunate soul. When the prophet came to Medina, Julaybib immediatley accepted Islam, along with so many others. Because Islam taught the equality of all people,Julaybib began to feel a little better about himself and people teased him less. Old habits and prejudices die hard in some people. The Blessed Prophet decided to do something that should have been done long before. He went to the house of one of the Ansar and said, " I want you daughter to be married". The man was overjoyed and replied, "How wonderful and blessed and what a great thing to see!" "I dont want to marry her myself", the Prohet rmarked. The man felt a little let down and asked, "Then who will she marry". "Jalybib" He replied. The man was shocked and horrified. After quickly calming himself fow, however, he managed to say,"I will consult with her mother," then he rushed to his wife. "The Messenger of Allah wants to have your daughter married." he told her. His wife was overjoyed and thrilled. "What a wonderful thing!" she cried with delight. "He doesn't want to marry her himself," he lamented. "He wnats her to marry Julaybib." she was horrfied and upset. she hated julaybib for his ugliness, just like most everyone else did. She finally cried out," To Julaybib! No, never to Julaybib! No, by living Allah, we will never marry her to him!" The man was about to go and tell the Prophet what his wife decided when the daughter herself came into the room. "Who asked you if they could marry me?"She inquired. Her mother told her about the Prophet's request that she mary Julaybib. The daughter heard her mother complain and saw how she turned down the request. This bothered the daughter greatly. "Do you refuse the request of the Messenger of Allah?"She finally asked her mother. "Send me to him(Julaybib) for her won't harm me." The daughter then read a verse from the Qur'an to her parents that called belivers to obey the Prophet in all good things. Then she looked at them and said," Iam satifsfied and submit myself to whatever the Messenger of Allah considered good for me." When the Prophet heard what she said, he prayed for her, "O Lord, grant her good in abundance and save her from a life of hard work and trouble." Then Jualybib was wed to her and they lived togather, though only a short time. Once, when he was travelling with the Prophet on an expedition, a group of idol-worshippers ambushed them. After the battle was over, the Prophet asked him campanions, "Have you lost anyone?" the companions gave the names of their relatives and friends they had lost. then the Prophet asked another group of Sahaba nearly the same question. They also named the ones they had lost in the battle. A third group reported they had lost no one. The Prophet said, "But I have lost Julaybib. Look for him on the battlefield." They searched for him and finally located his body lying next to seven ded idol-worshipper. The Prophet rushed to the scene and when he saw Julaybib,he said sadly, "He killed seven and then was killed? This man is of me and I am of him." He then repeat himself a couple more times and then bent down and held Jualabib in his arms. The Prophet dug a grave for him with his own hands and placed him in it.He didn't wash his body because of martyrs are not washed before burial. When Jualybib's wife was told of her husband's death, she must have been filled with sorrow. But she was a woman who knew what this life was really about as demonstrated by her willlingness to marry him in the first place, for the sake of Allah. She probably remembered another ayah of the Qu'ran which speaks about whose who are killed in the Cause of Allah. She might have repeated that ayah that night before drifting off to sleep. "Don't say those who are killed in the Cause of Allah are dead. No But they are alive even though you dont understand how."(2:154).
xiinfaniin Posted January 30, 2006 ^^Allaah yacizak, yaa Sharma’arke; a great Muslim personality who embodied the faith itself, and a courageous soul who cheerfully sacrificed for that noble Cause, he indeed was. And with such sacrifice, as Abdullah Yusuf writes in his tafsiir, his apparent loss may be his real gain. I will come back latter IA. Thanks much. Keep it coming. Sharmarkee Posted February 7, 2006 Salaam, Mu'adth ibn Jabal (r.a) Mu'adth ibn Jabal was s young man in Yathrib who accepted Islam at the hands of Mu'sab ibn Umayr, Mu'sab was the person the Blessed Prophet sent to Yathrib to help guide the new Muslims there. Mu'adth was one of the over seventy men and women who travelled to Makkah and made the famous second pledge of 'Aqaba whereby the new believers promised to defend and follow Allah's Messenger . After he returned to Yathrib, he joined a group of Muslims who campaigned against idols in the city. they would go from house to house and try to convince the people to smash their idols. After the prophet made Hijrah to Median, Mu'adth spent as much time as he could in his company. He memorised the entire Qur'an and learned all the teachings of Islam in great detail. Once the Prophet said of him, " Out of my whole Ummah(community), Mu'adth ibn Jabal is the most knowledgable regarding permissable and prohibited things." After the liberation of Makkah, the Blessed Prophet asked Mu'adth to stay there and help insturct the Makkans in the knowledge of the Qur'an and in the teachings of the islamic way of life. The Mission to Yemen Sometimes later, after the Prophet had returned to Medina, delegates came from the land of Yemen announcing that many of the people there had accepted Islam. They asked for teachers who could come and instruct their nation in the Islamic system. The Blessed Prophet organised a group of Sahaba to be sent there and placed Mu'dth Ibn Jabal in charge as their Amir, or leader. When the Blessed Messenger was sending them off, he asked Mu'adth how he would decide issues among the people. Mu'adth gave the famous reply that he would go by the Qur'an first. The Prophet asked which source he would consult next. Mu'adth replied that he would look into Sunnah. The the Prophet asked where he would look next if no answer was found there. to that, Mu'adth replied that he would use his own reasoning to make a sound judgment. The Blessed Prophet was pleased with his answers. As the group was riding away from Medina, the Prophet accompanied them a little ways and said to Mu'adth, "Mu'adth, perhaps you won't meet me again after this year. Maybe, when you return, you will see only my grave and my Masjid." Mu'adth and his group of da'wah workers began to cry softly at the thought of the unimaginable. the Blessed Prophet then left them to continue their long journey. When Mu'adth returned a few years later, the Blessed Messenger of Allah had passed away. Mu'adth was surely overcome with grief when he visited his grave. But he must have been comforted and strengthened by the many sayings of the Blessed Prophet whereby he said that those who love him will be near to him in the next life. Mu'adth ibn Jabal loved the Prophet dearly. ====== to be continue as Later(IA) =======

Such conviction, such allegiance to the Rasul (sallahu caliyhe wasilm), such love for the Rasul (sallahu caliyhe wasilm) And the nerve of some muslims today, to question ANYTHING that comes from the Rasul (sallahu caliyhe wasilm) or to say that defending his HONOR is not worth defending or getting upset over.
