H.J Posted January 15, 2003 The ablility to talk various languages is a special one, and we as somalis and ****** should 'keep it real' and try to indulge ourselves in formal english. After all it's not that hard is it? Take me for example, I have lived in The Netherlands for 12 years and came to the U.K. I've only lived here a year and a half, yet when my GCSE's arrived I got my highest grades (an A and an A*) for English literature. I'm not a genius, so I guess that every single one of us could do the same, if they'd just put their minds into it. Ebonics is fun for youre own social environment, but in school we have to make use of 'formal' english. One Proud Somali*****
