^No need to rewrite history, no, I ain't attempting to do that. History is already recorded both by Somalis and the British, it is found both in Somali, Arabic and English languages all over libraries. The British would let you know who was the first man to challenge their presence, architected and inspired all Somalis to decide their fate. 26 of June, is the legacy of Zayid Mohamed. His dream and that which was realised.

Gabaygan uu tiriyay Abwaanka reer Hargeisa Abwaan Qaasim habeenki calanka lasaarayay bal kagaro.

Allow yaa darwiishkii fariin dabacsan gaarsiiya,

Allow yaa damaashaad farxad leh kala dul eedaama,

Allow yaa dalkaagii ku dhaha dowlad nimo qaaday,

Dhaaxuu ku daakirey xaqii naga dahsoonaaye,

In dariiqadii toosan tahoo dihini soo gaarin,

oo uu dabkuu shidey rag kale dogobyo sii saarey,

Allow af lama daaliyee daacad ugu sheega.

^^^Adeer the Sayyid is important part of our history, but he is just a part of it. You have yet to mention others that have contributed as well such as Igal, Garaad Abdiqani, and other bright political figures and leaders.

dadkuna madiidana Zayiidka iyo muhiimadiisa laakin june 26, 1960 should be credited largely, to Igal, Garaad Abdiqani and the SNL.

The time period between 1900-1920 is the great Zayyid's era.

^I know what you mean, all the men you have mentioned have part in our Somali history, of course they will be and need to be mentioned, but Zayidka was a legend no one can match his poetic inspirational and leadership ability. Beyond any doubt the greatest Somali man of all time.
