Laba-X Posted July 6, 2008 Somaliland’s ever increasing efforts to tame Sool and Sanaag could not yield any fruit. Their pompous gallantry has always ended in nothing but a shameful retreat. On the part of the Sanaagians, for long their outstanding equanimity has enabled the air of peace to drift unrestrained and allowed them to live peacefully with their neighbours, but it seems like the neighbours want to disturb that peace now. The tranquil Sanaagian landscapes have for long been on the Diirad of the covetous Somaliland Administration. And it appears their insatiable hunger has led them to the placid pools and the serene mountains of Cal Madow. Blithely conscious of their supreme sense of aplomb and effrontery, and taking the quietude of their neighbours for their defect, the Somalilanders army, a hodgepodge of rag-tag militia led by a forlorn Gebiley General, marched into the Cal Madow range with more than 30 Technicals. On reaching there, the truth hit them and their weakness became apparent to them – Cal Madow is no place for ordinary man! The strenuous mountains involve no mere trekking and walking, but exhausting journeys through serpentine ranges, steep hills and jagged rocks where knowledge of the land becomes vital for survival. And this is what they [somalilanders] lacked, and this forced them to sit toothed between a rock and a hard place. But despite the fact that a peace agreement had been brokered by the sagacious elders between the Somalilanders and the resident Sanaagians, the aggressors have broken that accord and prepared for war. The fight that took place in Xabaal Shaawacle, a little village located just after you get off the road to Geeldoora, and near Masha Xaleed, was, thankfully, minimal. No loss of life so far, Alxamdullilah, and the bewildered assailants had to retreat. When will they understand that in some parts of the land, nature does play an important role! But little do they know – Cal Madow is not where you come to fight my friends unless you are prepared for a defeat! Horay ka caalwaayeen awoowayaashiinba Cal Madow e Cishahaad u dhaxdaaan yaan calalkiina laga gurine War isaga carara maandhow ceebi waydiin halise! Don't say you haven't been warned! Che -Guevara Posted July 6, 2008 Somaliland militia is emboldened and for good reason. This push eastward at the cost of stability in Northern Somalia will not likely slow down at least not in the near future.
Fabregas Posted July 6, 2008 quote:marched into the Cal Madow range with more than 30 Technicals. When my relatives used to relate the clanish going ons in the homeland, they always used you to say, "X Technical-Ba-La-Qabsaday". I thought technicals where some unique- coveted military gear, but now I know this what the fuss is all about:
Koora-Tuunshe Posted July 6, 2008 Somali Land accused of disconcerting the Foriegn Hostages in Sanag Region. July 6, 2008 Reports coming from Elmadow district in the Sanag region say that a heavy fighting has broken out over that area after a number of heavily armed militia tried to disturb ongoing negotiations arranged by the tribal elders with the Pirates to free their hostages having no ransom at all . The district commissioner Mr Mohamed Saeed Nour Dabeyl told to Mareeg that a heavily armed local group organized by the administration of Somali -Land have launched an attack to an area where the local tribal elders were negotiating with the pirates. The chairman said that the policy behind this attack was only to disturb their plan to persuade the pirates to release their hostages for not claiming any ransom at all but respecting the humanity and their valuable tradition. So far the pirates have threatened that they will kill the foreign hostages if they are not soon given a large sum of money at about one Million US dollars they demanded on the release of their hostages. The district chairman has accused Somali-Land of disturbing their desire to free the foreign hostages and creating violence’s among the local elders and the armed militia. The chairman also said that they were willing to reach a final solution to release the foreign hostages but their issue became failed after the Somali Land government deteriorated the situation. Koora-Tuunshe Posted July 6, 2008 Yusuf Ahmed Jamac, who leads a human rights organization called AAHT met the hostages. He gave a phone interview to RAdio Daljir about the current health condition of the hostages, one of whom has diabetes, and the negotiation the elders made with the pirates for their release. He also falsifies the troops build up that Somaliland and Puntland administrations claim. He also confirms that the Traditional Authority like the Sultans and elders in the region weild actual power in the region and they are actively involved in the release of the hostages following after a grand meeting in Badhan. Mr Yusuf HOPES THE RELEASE OF THESE HOSTAGES WITHIN THE NEXT FOUR DAYS. Listen to the Interview
RedSea Posted July 6, 2008 Well both somaliland authorities and the locals must cooperate in releasing these hostages. I think it's shameful that Sanaag is used as place to hold innocent foreigners as ransom. I disagree with laba xiinyoodle, this isn't about somaliland's 'bordering closing' quest in any sort, this is more about trying to free the hostages and in return somaliland wants to take credit. lool
Koora-Tuunshe Posted July 6, 2008 Ceyrow, you don't believe that Somaliland's intervention and involvement in the hostage crisis is an attempt to destablize the region? It even falsely claimed to have secured back the boat from the pirates. Listen to the Interview very carefully man
RedSea Posted July 6, 2008 The hostage keepers are destablizing the region. They need to be gone after.
Suldaanka Posted July 7, 2008 ^^ The hostage keepers started with 5 men in late June. They now number around 200 men from the same subclan. Tolkii waa isku habarwacday. I really laughed. Waxaan soo xasuustay gabaygii Cabdi Gahayr ee markuu arky geel Hargeisa dusheeda ciyaal wado intu madaxa meermeeriyey yidhi: Halkan ayay ka dhawdee, tolkay waa i hakranayaa. Laakin dhaqankii waxa ku dhacay ayaa la yaableh. Marti waa la sharfi jiray oo la soori jiree ma lacag ayaa lagu raadsadaa? What is this world coming to. NGONGE Posted July 7, 2008 I was about to put my flag back under my bed as I read the first few lines of the original post. Still, got to say it was a beautifully written propaganda. Ps Ceyrow Jnr, You have become quite a nuisance of late. Choose a side and stick with it. A man with two wives can never be fair to them both, never mind one with two causes. Qudhac Posted July 7, 2008 Somaliland must not allow the state sponsored culture of piracy and human trafficing that puntland has become famous for, whether in sea or in the mountains the government must quash this dispicable behaviour at its infancy. somaliland Millitary has already successfully freed foriegn hostages in these same mountains recently, and i believe they do the same again they must not allow the them to get away with it because others will feel they can do it too. even if it means the death of every single one of the hostage takers and even the hostages too. because no one will take hostages if it means your death rathers than huge amount of money.
