Koora, USP must look for greener pastures brother, we have miserably failed in always believing the best about southern Somalis and Puntland, yet they never fail to disappoint, its a little disappointing perhaps even an insult. You can only give people the benefit of the doubt for so long. Tomorrow, tomorrow, will tomorrow is here and things instead getting better, continue only get worse. Believe, they will hate this faroole guy or who ever they replace A/yusuf with only to elect a far worse one.

Che, the factor of risk had to be accepted for what it is sxb. No one should commit politically or financially expecting a winning outcome everytime. These folks you say have grievances now were yesterday 'pure' Puntlanders, so how can they claim otherwise with the mere loss of a 4-year term post? I don't think we need such duplicity in peoples' dealing.

 

I say stick with Puntland or revitalise the Maakhir state idea but never cross over to Somaliland. This is because crossing over to Somaliland would sincerely create dire problems for reer SSC - just see the reference of 'East Sanaag' SLanders use to divide a single region's people. Now fast forward to 25 or 50 years and they'll be no such thing as even East Sanaag. I say this with the welfare of both Puntlanders and Somalilanders in mind. When shyt hits the fan, it'll get really sticky!

Puntland and Somaliland is not in the best intrest for the ppl Sanaag and sool.. We need to become collective and join forces really we can become a force to be reckon with.. But dhul dont know how to share with wrasangali which is a problem..

Naxarow, if what you are saying is true, where did the 28 votes of reer Sool and Sanaag go? Certainly not to Gen Ilka-jiir. He ended up with 17 votes.

To be fair to Cadde, he only selected 3 men in which one of them is from Sool and other 3 guys were selected by the Issims. Besides if you think there were some sort voting irregularities, why don't we hear any of the MPs is that room making any fuss about it? The voting was fair in terms of who got what and how many. What is in question is how the winner in this case Faroole lured them MPs. Did he persuade or pay them, that we don't know and we may never know it.

 

It is almost the 3rd day after that election and no one on ground is making all the fuss you guys are making in here. Faroole is not the best man, but sadly he is what we have got out of that room. The least we can do now, is to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he uses a good judgment and appoints people that can lead.

P.s. There is something very strange going, This can't be as the result of the latest so called elections. Really people need to have more faith in what they believe in and give their newly formed wobbly states a chance. Are people jumping ship already because of few (ok big they may be) mistakes.

Puntland state's viability should not hinge on individual leaders, you can't be seriously thinking of supporting the secessionists?

 

The people of SSC have more representation in puntland, have had a President, and vice presidents in puntland. What exactly does 'somaliland' offer? Be practical and not emotional saxiib.
