MoonLight1 Posted October 21, 2010 Lets see just a fraction of what the Kacaan did for the two kacaan bashing regions, AKA SL & PL. Oktoobareey adaa lahaa all these projects. The long highway between Bosaso and Garowe, the lifeline of Puntland Commerce was approved and given the go ahead by the kacaan on its last years, it had the choice to divert it to another region. Egal International Airport, actually it should've been called Siyaad International Airport. Barbara port, The engine of SL economy was rebuilt, and was made an international port during the Kacaan years. Bosaso port was built in the last years of the Kacaan. What did the Kacaan Built for you?

Che -Guevara Posted October 21, 2010 If the Kacaan built anything in Waqooyi Galbeed and Bari, it wasn't doing any particular people a favor. It was its JOB to do so! I think Somalis will be served if they become a little more reflective and not blindly defend someone or some movement. Barre Administration had its good and bad, and definitely contributed to the downfall of the Somali State. We need to acknowledge and accept our misdeeds in the Somali debacle before we could move on.

Peace Action Posted October 21, 2010 The problem is not what the kacaan did, it is what they destroyed and I am not exempting the Somali people but the kacaan must take it share? The Somali nationalism and unity which is far diffcult to rebuild. And rebuilt, we must.
RedSea Posted October 21, 2010 It's like their mind has frozen in Kacaan years. The inability to move forward has direct link to not letting go the past. MOVE ON. Moonlight: the kacaan built nothing. It was all foreign aid projects. The main highway was built by the Chinese. The Berbera port was built by the Russians. The Bosaso port was built by the Italians. Maanta hadii Soomaaliya dawlad ka dhalato aduunku waa ula diyaar in ay wax uqabtaan. As for the cities like Mogadishu; it's all private properties and business that beautify it. If anything the Kacaan destroyed blooming nation into lowest dungeons for generation to come.
Allamagan Posted October 21, 2010 ^Ma dear friend Redsea, honestly speaking if people's mind frozen long ago and if people need to move on then it is certainly you people (the secessionists) who need to move on and stop moaning about sidaana berri innala yeelay iwm therefore waanu goosanay. Xaaji Xunjuf Posted October 21, 2010 it was not built by kacaan or siyaad bare government it was built by the Colonial Empire , and The rayaale government added a few Buildings to it.

WE speak of the Past in different context than you do. We do it to make a political case as to why it's not plausible Somalia functions as single state anymore. But when it comes to forgetting the past, We have indeed moved ahead and made head waves.
Allamagan Posted October 22, 2010 ^In terms of developments, yes, I agree, this region is way better off than the past, however, what I dont agree with you is that when you said that you forgot the past and moved on, in fact in that context you still stuck in the past and did not even move about an inch! remember because of the past was/is your core reasoning behind as to why you guys want to secede, right?
