He says they are ashabaab and Alshabab is Them.

 

He also says that they have been in the mountains in last five years preaparing themselves for Jihad.

 

He says before he was a lecturer at a university and then decided to start a Holy war against the Admin as they were not governing under the Shria Law.

 

He also goes to say that he has contacted a much bigger Sheihks from Punland about announcing Jihad but they declined to wage a Jihad as they see the admin as Islamic one.

 

He also indirectly confirms that his group are behind the killing of Puntland soldiers and claims that the population don't support them as they do not take or help the slain soldiers on the streets.

 

He pleaded the businessmen, and the rest of the population to help them and join them as they are waging a Jihad in a very hard terrain

 

He said that they operate between the land between Puntland Somlailand.

 

In that interview he did not once claim he was defending a clan interest or even implied it. Now we need our friends Xudeedi, Nassir and Paragon to come out and state which side they are on. I know Paragon is against Alshabab in the South but is he also against the alshabab of Punland?

 

What a brave new world. The ball now is on the Reer Puntland's corner. They either choose the stabilty and the peace that they always enjoyed in or the mayham and terror that engulfed in the South of the counry.

SOMALIA: Puntland islamist leader pledges allegiance with al-Shebab

Sheikh Mohamed Said Atom an Islamist leader based in the remote mountains village of Galgala (North east of Somalia) pledged his allegiance with al-Shebab after his militia clashed with Puntland forces, on Monday.

 

Mohamed Said Atom, is one of a handful of men singled out by the UN Security Council as violating an arms embargo on Somalia, has established bases in Galgala village in the mountains region of Sanaag, Puntland State of Somalia.

 

In a teleconference on Paltalk Mohamed Atom told several of his supporters that he was part of al-Shebab movement, when asked if he has any links with the group.

 

“…We are Al-shebab, and Al-Shebab are us, we are joined in the same struggle to fight for the establishment of an Islamic state in Somalia…” said Mohamed Said Atom.

 

The Al Qaeda-linked al- Shebab insurgent group has been mainly active in southern and central Somalia in recent years, focusing its military efforts on trying to topple the western-backed government in Mogadishu.

 

Yesterday, more than 6 Puntland soldiers and at least 11 of Atom’s men were killed in heavy fighting near the village of Karin, 40km south of Bosaso city, the commercial capital of Puntland State.

 

The fighting began after a group of heavily armed militia launched a brazen pre-dawn attack on a checkpoint controled by the Puntland security forces.

 

At least 4 wounded militia were captured, one of them was Jama Ismail Duale a well known islamist suspected of carrying out previous attacks in Puntland. According to hospital officials, Jama died for his wounds, later on Tuesday.

 

“…Jama is one of the men who are on the international terrorist list….”said Abdirahman Farole, the President of Puntland.

 

Farole called the latest attack a serious security threat not only to Puntland but to the whole wider region, he called for neighboring countries to help their fight against the insurgents.

 

Puntland security forces are currently surrounding the mountains village of Galgala were Shiekh Atom is based.

 

Somalia’s Al-Qaeda-linked al-Shebab movement claimed responsibility for twin suicide bombings in Kampala that ripped through crowds watching the football World Cup final on July 11, killing 76 people.

Once they get done in puntland. The south is already pacified by them anyways they will head straight to burco.

Makhiris are in puntland govt and also in lower level govt at the degaan level but never has their been an attempt to kill them. Anyways mr.atam needs to stop taking advantage of little derbi jiif kids in bossaso. I bet he says "he is $100" if u kill that official U will get an extra bonus payment so you can pay for your tahrib cost to yemen.

 

These derbi jiif who are unemployed get manipulated by this insane clown and start hitting puntland officials and alot of them have been successful in their hits.

 

Anyways puntland has done 1 good thing, the admin got rid of the derbi jiif so now atam cant manipulate anyone. The minorities who have employment wont risk doing such silly things so he can't source them.

 

As for the remaining element left in galgala which number about 500 soldiers under the guidance of atam who are from all clans ma ahan just makhir well hada ayayba socota hawshooda so watch the news and lets see what the result will be.

 

I expect atam will shift operations similar to how they shifted from bargaal to galgala after the american airstrikes.

 

But if they do shift operations and puntland doesnt go after them then its clear to me that puntland really is not after terrorism but really after something else in galgala which i wont go into detail about. However if the puntland admin is true to their word they must get rid of this guy either kill him/jail him/ or exile him from all of somalia then the war on terror will be successfully won and puntland will be terror free state.

 

If atam leaves the remaining soldiers need to be incoporated into puntland army.
