TopGirl Posted April 13, 2009 what do you think of somali women taking part in politics? not the front line as a leader etc ect but as part of the team? taking part in discussions or activities.
Mintid Farayar Posted April 13, 2009 ^^ A much needed part that's missing! Somali women make up more than 50% of the population. It would help dilute the irrational 'Sanka Ka Taabo' mentality that we men continuously engage in (including yours truly ). Let's see what you bring to the table. Naxar Nugaaleed Posted April 14, 2009 depends, if the mullahs get their way, Somali woman should worry more about the right to leave their house, to educate their daughters, public floggings and complete subjugation rather then taking part in politics. In an ideal situation, a society that only harnesses the potential of only its male segments would be seen as being akin to a person choosing to use only one eye or only one ear or only one arm... rather then both. Also, we shouldn't go overboard in painting females replacing males as a panacea for our problems. equality is the key to a socio-political equilibrium.
