Bambina Posted July 16, 2005 Salam Alaykum Hum... I should say Muslims are in indeed in trouble. Why would Nedjma's bestseller book come as a surprise? When attention is given to Muslims , controversy is always on the way , specially to those who seek it. I am frankly getting bored of the frustrated Muslims who revolve their personal issues around Islam. What this woman indeed needs is not celebrating the freedom of the female body but counselling. Since she claimed that her book is somewhat autobiographical ,I truly feel sorry for her because some Muslim men do repress women while, others are not. So, given the fact that nobody is perfect , was it really necessary to write a book about the generalization of the Muslim male oppressors? But, she's right on one thing though, male chauvinism is not the work of our God's teachings.Only God knows her heart , so be his guidance show her the right path. If you look at this Amazon page (under Product Details), it will tell you Nedjma's Amazon.com Sales Rank is: #1,540 (as of now). That's not a satisfactory rank to qualify for bestseller. So let us all honour ISLAM by making our women the way ISLAM wants them to be...Surely there will a lot of QUEENS in the world... Utter pornography won't help at all.Why should it make a 'headline'...coz a muslim has written it.Who knows if she was a muslim or rather a 'beleiver' in the first place? Cawralo Posted July 17, 2005 Arab. Muslim. Islam. Arab. Woman. Opressed. Sex. I dont know about you guys, but my "Uncle Tom Pornography" alert is on high. She's pushing all the buttons, all but one, she claims she's a muslim. Good for her. As to her book, I'm waiting for a friend to finish reading it (yes, I'm so broke right now). She tells me that it's bordeline "okey", except for all the "sex-parts".
