Abtigiis Posted November 20, 2008 Sanyare is rediculous, and I was laughing the whole night over his ignorance. He should not have responded to the simple classification of the security phase by UNDSS (Dept' of Safety and security). It is a routine thing to do in the system and implies nothing. In fact at times, it is deliberatey used by field staffs to get higher pays (a s working under riskier areas gets them Hardship and Hazard allowances). SL security level was downgragded to Phase 4 (ready for evacuation) from phase 3 (only essential staff remains in the field), and this might trigger worry whether the UN will leave. But, barring any repeat of a serious security incident, a reassessment in a weeks time could take it back to phase 3. Personally, I don't understand why Hargeisa should not be in Phase 1 or 2. It is so safe.
Koora-Tuunshe Posted November 21, 2008 ^After the explosion, I don't think phase 4 implies nothing. Hargeisa might be safe for foreign staff but not for ordinary Somalis whose lives are trapped in makeshift camps & tagged as refugees to be deprived of necessities in their own country or are randomly kidnapped, tried and extradited to secret CIA or Ethiopian prisons. Why did they go through the punties land to come to Hargeisa. Surely they could have had a better life there right?
Poker Posted November 21, 2008 ILAAHAY caadilsanaa....oo xaasidka Somalilandna badnaa. Bal wuxuu war ka soo dhigayo eeg. There was a terrorist attacked there three weeks ago. Of course the security won't be judged the same as it was before 10/29. That is just common sense man. They elevate the security level in the US every time shy goes down. It’s all about taking extra precaution.
