AYOUB Posted May 6, 2003 assalaam calaikum. a brother has just returned from 'somaliland' and brought with him lots of pictures of towns, villages , etc . one thing i noticed is there were no Masjids visible at all in these phots. not even a minaret!. we are 99.999% muslim but no symbols of it anywhere! is it a design fault whereby all masjids look like houses or none have been built for a long time? another thing noticeable is that, all men in the pictures were dressed as men do in all non-Muslim African countries. please lets give this a thought, especially the Masjid issue. wa salaam cailakum. N.O.R.F Posted May 6, 2003 masjids are built like masjids and they are on many sakado iyo laamiyo. maybe yr freind just did not capture any! as for dressing like non-muslim africans, well may i call it variation of it, who could not laugh at the bright, baggy trousers and over-stretched shirts, however, there many brothers who wear khamiis etc, 'itixaad' as they call them!
