The fallacy of the cheer leaders and supporters of the defeated clowns and the ever failing secessionist movement is this claim of Ethiopian “Occupation” of Somalia.

Yes there is an Ethiopian alliance of the TFG a solid relationship between two neighbors. This Ethiopia is not the old hegemonic state it’s a Federal one and those in power are not coveting Somalia.

 

The problem for the defeated groups and the secessionist claim of “occupation” is that the Security Council, EY, AU, US and all other world powers recognize the TFG as the sole, legitimate government of Somalia. They respect Somalias territorial integrity and unity a slap to the secessionist who while claiming that we the unionist are occupied can not find a single nation to recognize their “independence” and their difference from the rest of us.

 

The fact that the secessionist used to celeberate their special relationship with Ethiopia, now its amusing and quite ironic that they cry foul at the fact that Ethiopia is not interested in recognizing their fake nation, and has just reopened its old embassy in Mogadishu.

 

Thus Ethiopia “our enemy” is not interested in dismembering Somalia, taking advantage of the disunity and in fact recognizes the unity territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation and is one with the international worlds support for the TFG.

 

Thus the Ethiopian military support was one that was at the request of the TFG, and came only through the acts of war that was declared against Baidoa at the time.

 

It was crucial and gave an advantage to the TFG thus this is what the fear is about. Somali’s have been fighting for 16 years and we never ever heard any concern from the secessionist movement. The new love for Mogadishu from the SNM is most welcome but will it continue when the TFG is more entrenched in Mogadishu ad Somaliweyn is the new fad?

 

Funny how even Dahir Riyaale the leader of Somaliland congratulated the alliance for its victory over the Eritrean backed group

Thus to you a challenge tell us a single nation [outside Eritrea] and Somaliland is not a nation, that supports this idea that the intervention of Ethiopia is an occupation.

No technicalities here the AU, IGAD, and all other world bodies do not see it as an occupation so are you suggestion that you are more informed than all these bodies or that you alone and others of your persuasion can determine what is legal when it comes to Somalia? The other amusing point you made was that Ethiopia is calling the shots, what shotts and what evidence do you have for this fanciful claim The Ethiopians NEVER DO ANYTHING ON THEIR OWN and have only ever targeted those who fought against the TFG, thus doing the very job they came do to in the first place.

 

What I am presenting is simple facts in a sober manner, how can one occupy a country and then recognize its sole legitimate government. For example why does the Somaliland junta not recognize the TFG? The Ethiopians seem to know their limits more than we give them credit for. Opens full diplomatic ties and supports it in every way?

The Somali parliament never called or asked Ethiopia to intervene on the behalf of Somalis. Yes they passed some motions in support of Ethiopian invasion had occured. Howeover, the Somali cabinet did and does not have the constitutional right to ask another state to intervene and send thousands of troops into Somalia. Hence the reason why they totally denied the presence of all Ethiopian troops in Somalia. The last time Ethiopian forces were mentioned Somali parliamentarians came pshyical blows. The strange thing is that Meles Zenawi gained the consent of the Ethiopian parliament to launch a war in Somalia, but the Somalis that supposedly "invited them" never gained or got the support from the Somali parliament. I ask and challenge Duke to name me on instance were Somali Parliamentarian prior to the invasion/war allowed or authorised their troops? Thus the Ethiopian invasion of Somalia broke all international laws. Lastly, Mr Duke is trying to mislead the gallery by claiming that there is a new Ethiopia which is apparently friendly to Somalis! Iraq and Afghanistan: Are a special case in both countries a regime change was instigated by the world powers. They both had a functioning government in the case of Iraq it was a very effective and centralized state and the Taliban also were the governing power for over 6 ueats before they were attacked. The new regimes put in place were created by the powers and did not exist before this. The TFG was the legitimate and sole government of Somalia which was recognized by the international world as well as local players such as Puntland, all the armed factions including the clan courts [remember they recognized the government they tried to topple]. Did the Taliban recognize Karzia, did the Baith regime of Baghdad recognize the Iraqi government led by Allawi and now Maliki?

 

Chechniya: Does Russia recognize the independence of Chechnia? How foolish of one to make such as suggestion the whole war and destruction of Chechnia was for the simple fact it was not allowed to secede like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other former soviet republics. The Kremlin holds the view that Chechnya and the Caucasus are in fact part of Mother Russia. Thus the government in place there is only a local state organ that is part of Russia and comes under Moscow. How does this compare to Somalia, which is recognized as an independent and soverign nation even by the Ethiopians, they do not question this fact and have even come out against the break up of Somalia into smaller bits.

 

Lebanon: I don’t know what you mean, no country occupies Lebanon apart from the small farm area that Israel holds. If you wanted to highlight the Syrian involvement well Syria is no longer a direct player and in fact ended the war of Lebanon which ushered in years of Peace.

Wrong, the Somali Parliament in Baidoa led by Sharif Xasan passed the law to invite any foreign troops regardless of being frontline state or not. The Parliament then sent this law to the cabinet who agreed and then the President signed it. This is a fact and I welcome that you will not argue with the fact that the parliament has the right to request military assistance of any kind. This even happened before the rise of the clan courts and the change of Sharif Xasan mood.
