Happy 17th Birthday, Somaliland - The Freedom Monument

The journey began in 1981 by declaring the Somali National Movement (SNM) in London.

 

It evoluted in 1982 by creating the military wing and starting the first attacks on the governement in the mountains of Sheikh, Gacan-libaax, Erigavo and others.

 

It took another turn in 1985 by carrying out successful assasinations inside the big cities.

 

It turned to be most craziest advendure in the history just be the most successful in 1988 by invading Burco then Hargeisa in front of the eyes of everybody.

 

It was successfully libarated in 1991 by ousting the dictator finally and taking full control of all the territories.

 

It was announced on the 18th of May 1991 to be an independent country from what was known Somalia.

 

It took a further step in 1994 by printing the Somaliland shillings, creating the first national military, police and security forces.

 

It was a beautiful and well-known country in 2001 by holding its first free and fair elections.

 

It is now 2008 and heading to the goal once and for all. to the goal it was created ,,, to the final destination ,,, to be recognized by the international community.
