General Duke Posted November 5, 2006 ^^^Anger is bad for your health, apart from that I have nothing to add since I dont know you. Back to the topic, anyone can have an opinion, but apart from clan why could A/Yusuf not lead Somalia? He is a war hero in two wars, 1964 and 1978 and has played a key role in the development of Puntland and won a transparent election in 2004. Those who were against him, led us to believe they would defeat him in the election and lost, blaming others for their defeat. Those same groups are now promising to defeat him in warfare... General Duke Posted November 5, 2006 ^^^There you ago again, David calm down, Yusuf served in 1964 and 1978 against the powerful army of Ethiopia. President Adan gave him the medal of honour in 1964 and he led the front line troops in 1978. No saxib you are getting upset for no reason, the evidance is contrary to what they have told you. President Yusuf was one of the most competent officers in Somali history even his detractors know this. On the incident you mention, actually Yusuf went to Jail for refusing to place the ethiopian flag in Somali soil. The fighting that ensued killed many SSDF young members when they took on the Ethiopians. Yusuf was jailed and his liver was damaged they say by the serve conditions in the jail. Yusuf refused to bow to the ethiopians, Amxaro regime at that time. The SSDF captured small towns including balanbale but that was just a civil war similar to what the SNM, USC did later. . Many of the ICU members were also part of the Caydiid's USC armed by Ethiopia. Every clan was one time or anther a rebel group. Even Xasan Dahir praised A/Qaybdeed for his role in toppling in his words the "dirty regime" of Barre Or is history based on what you writte? The priosn warden Xasan Dahir and Turki were not noted in those wars, but Yusuf was.
