Gabbal Posted January 24, 2005 Smith no offense, but why in the world are government officials flying around when truly there is no dawlad ee matalaan? So far all I'm seeing is the Abdiqasim II, except Abdiqasim was based in Muqdisho and not Nairobi. Gabbal Posted January 24, 2005 Qudhac dabanaageysga iga daa. Uma baahni inaa sidaas iga daba hadashid. As for Smith, sxb I'm a realist and I'm being real here. We have all seen what red carpet treatment got Abdiqasim, who at this time in juncture of his "presidency" was attending the historic United Nations millenium summit. These people who are heading the Somali government now need to be more focused about getting accepted by the Somali people themselves and not some big-city politician whose country is already safe and progressing. I am disappointed in the government, because I see they are getting caught up in the hype that Abdiqasim got caught up on. I do not see enough "reconciliatory" efforts on government's side to really stand up for the wishes of the people and take advantage of the current wishes of the people for a viable and working government in a peaceful and developing land. That is what I want the Foreign Minister and President and Prime Minister to be engaged in right now. NOT hoping from country to country attending some colorful yet meaningless meetings just like our late "president" wasted his time with.
Emperor Posted January 24, 2005 Horn, not being serious are you? Now call you uncle, Barre hiiraale he will whisper it to you "the government works in Kismayo" so what more do you want. As for the late Arta man, this is no match to that situation in any ways! Tuliza Bolu
Emperor Posted January 24, 2005 One question, who is this Culusow, Was he the Pres or PM wanna be?. Seriosly is he a warlord or does he control malitia in Mogadishu like others. I really don't know just asking what was his role before this appointment. Anyone knows. Cheers

Dabo-naageesi is his political rhetoric. I think its a residue from the old days of British master-servant relations. DUKE - Horn does raise a point though: why is this government taking the same route as the Arta initiative? I know its not gonna be a rosy ride to Mogadishu, but still.. They're doing the same fancy crap the Arta mechanics used to do.
General Duke Posted January 24, 2005 They're doing the same fancy crap the Arta mechanics used to do. Arta had one weakness no presence on the ground. This government already has Puntland as a whole under Cade Muse. We hear some posative developments in the Juba areas, with peace talks between SPM and JVA. So I dont get this comparison with Arta. Arta ran too Mogadishu without a plan. This government is setting up [or so they say] the mechanism to go back to the country. However the international community are the ones with the money, so a diplomatic presence muts be there. meeting with donor nations and organisations are vital, without success in this sphere it would be difficult to control the country.
