Som@li Posted February 10, 2007 The Associated Press WASHINGTON: The Voice of America announced Friday that it will initiate daily Somali-language news broadcasts to the Horn of Africa starting on Monday. The half-hour programs will be targeted not only at Somalia but also at Somali speakers in Ethiopia and other countries in the region. VOA will rely on freelance reporters in Africa and elsewhere for the newscasts. In addition to news about the Horn of Africa and other regions of the world, the broadcasts will offer music and discussion that will allow leaders and ordinary listeners to express their opinions, the VOA announcement said.
