Who you think was bombing the courts during the battles near Badioa? "Ethiopian airforce" ? Some even say American personnel were directing the Ethiopians and even British were doing the same thing on the Kenyan border. Muqdisho has more media, and even if it is bombed, images of destruction will be beamed across the world media. The border between SOmalia and Kenya has virtually no media and it is easier to get away with sending rains of missiles down there. Hassan Turki is probably the most influential trainer and figure in the Islamic Courts Union. He is one a few respected by both the ARS and Alshabaab breakaway-wing. His ability to keep a low profile and keep churning out new graduates( in the school of Jihad) is impressive given the resources in Somalia. I feel sorry the nomads in that region: They have drought, famine and all the worries in life, but now they also have sophisticated American weaponry and some shady millitants that drive around in tinted cars! Jacaylbaro Posted March 5, 2008 Somalis protest after U.S. missile attack MOGADISHU, March 4 (Reuters) - Hundreds of residents of a remote town in southern Somalia staged an anti-American demonstration on Tuesday after the United States launched an air strike against "a known al Qaeda terrorist" there. The town of Dobley was hit by two missiles on Monday in the fourth U.S. strike in 14 months against Somalia, where Washington says local Islamists are sheltering wanted al Qaeda leaders. Demonstrators in the small town on the Somali-Kenyan border said 600 people took part. "We don't want the Americans because they are against our religion and culture. Down with America," shouted Mohamed Deq, one of the protesters. District commissioner Ali Hussein Nur told Reuters by telephone "Since the American government admitted bombing our town, where people and livestock were killed and properties damaged, it must pay compensation." The exact toll from Monday's attack was unclear. Nur said on Monday that six people were killed, but a local resident, Fatuma Omar, said on Tuesday that only four were wounded. Residents of Dobley said they believed the missiles were targeting senior Islamist leaders meeting nearby. The World Food Programme withdrew four of its aid workers and three from the World Vision charity from Buale in southern Somalia because of recent security incidents, a WFP spokesman said. In Washington, a Pentagon spokesman said on Monday the attack was against "a known al Qaeda terrorist". White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe told reporters the United States would pursue al Qaeda operatives wherever it found them. "They are plotting and planning all over the world to destabilise the world, to inflict terror, and where we find them, we are going to go after them," he said on Monday. In Mogadishu, two of the Somali capital's independent radio stations, Shabelle and Horn Afrik, were back on air after security forces raided their premises and accused them of siding with suspected activities by Islamist insurgents, their directors said. Shabelle, Horn Afrik and Simba radios were forced to shut down on Sunday. Simba said it was still off-air, waiting for the government to return broadcasting equipment seized in the raid. In north Mogadishu, the bodies of two young women were dumped near a hospital close to where suspected Islamist-led insurgents and Ethiopian troops clashed on Monday. Elsewhere, the bodies of two men killed in clashes on Sunday were found in a Mogadishu street, a witness said.

Xidigo Posted March 5, 2008 The Somali government has not yet commented on whether it gave the US permission to launch the air strike on its territory. How sad is that. Somali Women and children Ilaah baa u maqan.
NASSIR Posted March 7, 2008 Originally posted by Lois Lane: Caamir, Walaal Please let us be clear on one thing. No one recognizes the legitimicay of the TFG. (Of course you have your followers who consider themelves men without ever knowing the meaning behind such term) However the one thing we can all recognize is the war crimes committed by this group of idiotic members and the ethiopian troops along with the american administration. Now, rest assured walaal that peace will come back to every street of Somalia and this will be done in the presence of Somalia's ennemies, namely this TFG joke and its followers. Further, those that helped in the bloodbath of Somalia, will face justice! People relate to objects in different terms, according to the fundamental principle of constructivist. It is the meaning we attach to such objects that influence our behavior towards that object. For instance, A person who is an example of a generation indoctrinated with the social constructionist beliefs that reigns in a period in which his country’s Greater territorial ideology against country B, has different significance for a country B, which then raises the apparition of inexplicable fear. If the meanings that person attach to a country B is so adverse and hostile, such meanings can hardly be reversed. However, the person hardly questions the root causes of the hostility he or she harbors for a country B since they are part of an ongoing process that defines state interest on the basis of an unresolved problem under the political framework of ethnic nationalism, and which demands the performance of particular attitudes/actions as some of us demonstrate in regards to Ethiopia. Lois Lane Posted March 7, 2008 Caamir, While indeed someone who has been indoctrinated with any belief for that matter will most likely have specific feelings brought up by the lessons received, this is not the case here. The facts are in front of our eyes day in and day out. The TFG administration is NOT doing anything for the Somali population. A government must serve its citizens. This is unfortunately not the case here. For all the years the TGF stood there attempting to govern it has not only failed miserably but most importantly at the expense of the Somali citizens. There is no need to understand "the root cause of the hostility" since a five year old can point towards the problem and the only "unresolved problem" is the state of our country thanks to this pathetic administration and the presence of ethiopian troops. But let me ask you this, as a Somali (im assuming here) how can you not despise what is going on in your country today? and if you do, how can you not see who is really causing these war crimes? NASSIR Posted March 11, 2008 Louis, the government is doing all it can to serve its people, but it is hampered by insurgents who shoot from rooftops, plant bombs that kill innocent people including women and children. I am indeed bothered by their actions and there is no any other alternative to the TFG. If so, I like to hear what you have to say. This is our last hope if we are to reconsitute our Somali government. Some experts have already recommended the return of Somalia to its anarchic situation. Also beware, the secessionists are doing their part of the Somali destabalization scheme since they see in it an opportunity to win constitutive recognition, a wishful thinking. NASSIR Posted March 12, 2008 Louis, this is an example of what I am saying. --- Somalia: Explosion kills pregnant mother, wounds her two children MOGADISHU, Somalia Mar 11 (Garowe Online) - A roadside bomb killed a pregnant mother in the Somali capital Tuesday and wounded four other people, including her two young children, witnesses said. The dead mother, Ismahan Hussein, was walking along Maka-al-Mukarama Road at the heart Mogadishu when the bomb detonated. The target of the bomb was an armored truck transporting soldiers and military officers to the Central Bank, security sources said. The impact of the explosion caused damage to the back of the truck, but none of the soldiers on board was hurt. Government troops rushed to the scene and sealed off the area, as they searched for the perpetrators of this horrendous crime. No one was arrested. Hundreds of civilians have been killed in roadside bombings since last year, when Ethiopian troops toppled Mogadishu’s Islamic rulers and installed the interim government in the capital. Meanwhile, government security forces that vacated strategic roads near the capital’s main Bakara market returned to their positions later Monday. Bakara traders and customers said security forces were not stopping people from leaving or entering the market Tuesday morning, but reported a few isolated incidents where soldiers fired bullets in the air to stop some people. Business has returned to normal in Bakara, with most shops reopening their doors for business after a week of nonstop insurgent attacks. Lois Lane Posted March 12, 2008 Caamir, The first thing wrong with your comment is saying that the TFG is doing all they can. Wrong indeed walaal. If that was the case we would not be in this poor situation 3 years after this administration hijacked the government position. Second, there is an alternative to the TFg. When the TFG took the government position, had they put effort in installing a democratic election system instead of forcingly holding on to the seat of presidency, perhaps the average Somali citizen wouldn't despise them. Furthermore, fighting insurgents back, isn't an excuse to invite the United States or Ethiopia to turn Somalia into their personal toilet. This so-called government had a responsability to uplift our people, instead it focused on fighting insurgents until the end and making nasty deals to further its own personal interest. Also, this is not our last hope, if it was, then we are doomed. Saying such comments is a weak point and a useless propaganda tool. As far as experts who are they, the UN (who has not helped us, or the US who is harming us today like it did back with Siad) Keep in mind Walaal that only a few want us to excel and rise up as a country. Thus certain media outlets will vomit whatever seems right to them. Last, about the secessionists, the destabalization of Somalia is too much of an important tragedy to prevent that their attempts can not get to us. However I will say that occupying ourselves with a few that fed some groups a distorted version of our history should not be our main concern right now, Somalia is way too important for that. By the way notice how I did not call you Camraan, so the name is Lois Lane my dear not Louis
