The heart?

I was listening to a lecture about the heart by brother Tawfiq choudry about the heart. One of the things he said that was that ulema of Islam such as Ibn Taymiyah have said that the heart truly refers to the mind of a Muslim( and not the muscle in our body which pumps blood). IF someone could clarify this for me and provide sources/evidences. jzk
